3 Steps to Your Power Resume:
Employers normally use resumes to make judgments about their potential employees. The way the resumes are written is as important as the content. Following are the 3 important factors you should consider while writing a resume.
Design Your Resume to Grab Attention:
Your resume should impress your potential employer at the first instance. The resume should highlight those skills, experience and education which are of importance to the employer. This information should be provided in the first few lines itself since the employers may not have the time or patience to go through the entire resume especially during the initial screening period. Details which are not very relevant can either be left out or can be given less prominence.
Quantify Your Achievements:
Instead of listing out your experience with the previous employer(s), you should mention the achievement(s) on a specific job. Please note that the achievement should be something that you did over and above the daily routine. Also ensure that there are not too many items in the "achievement list"
Quantifying the achievements is important. You should avoid general statements and make specific references to what you have achieved. For example instead of writing "performed very well as a territory sales manager", you should mention the sales targets taken by you and how you have beaten them.

If the achievements cannot be quantified use the right words to describe the situation and how your action saved the day for the company. This is the way in which your potential employer will have a clear picture on your capabilities to act in a particular situation.
Mention Skills That Is Important For Your Employer:
You should have the skills required for the job which you are looking for. Though there are a set of common skills, specific skills which are of importance to the potential employer should be highlighted. Past references on how these skills were used in specific situation will be helpful.
Technical skills should be mentioned with specific references to the work you have done like designing an equipment or developing a software program. You could also mention any process or program you have suggested or implemented which in turn had saved the company a few dollars.
